MONDAY MUSINGS: OH, SO VERY MUCH, CASTLE
How about some more rumblings from the one with the bizarre thought process!
SEASON 7- TIME OF OUR LIVES
The reason for the writer credit for PJB. I had been toying with this musing and Peggy became the muse😄. She wanted to know why, if Rick is really so rich and knows everyone, why didn’t he figure out a way to get Ryan, Espo,Lanie and Jenny at least to the wedding. We’re all the limos checked out? Was it supposed to be a big surprise? I mean they had to get from Manhattan to The Hamptons themselves, roughly a 110 mile trip, about 2 hours in duration. So we aren’t talking a quick trip to city hall that spans 2 miles and 12 minutes. And what about Jim? He had to be contacted, complete what he was doing and race out there himself (or carpool). Not to mention Martha and Alexis. All to arrive for a ceremony at sunset. Lots of opportunities to get his and her friends out there, that’s all I am saying! After all, Kate has a chance to read RAGING HEAT (see above pic😜)
A DEATH IN THE FAMILY
After Castle mentions that he’s looking forward to terrorising Alexis’ date before prom, he asks Beckett whether her father did a similar thing to her date. Beckett states that she doesn’t know because she was in her room, but when she came out, her date looked terrified. However, in the Season 6 episode Smells Like Teen Spirit, Beckett reveals that she never went to prom. Kate went to a poetry slam. Perhaps that was her senior year and she has attended the prom as a sophomore and junior?
SEASON 2- DEEP IN DEATH
Starting salary in 2010 was 46,000. Ryan being a detective 3rd grade (2nd grade is equal to Sargeant which he took the test and failed) and has been for a while so his pay is likely closer to 70k. Beckett assuredly tops 100k as a detective 1st class. Before joining homicide, Ryan was undercover for fourteen months under the name of Fenton O’Connell on Staten Island with an Irish mob, 7 years earlier. So being a cop like 10 years should have him earning considerably more than 40 large.
Pulgatti says that he pleaded guilty “because he doesn’t like needles”, presumably a reference to the death penalty by lethal injection. But New York hasn’t executed anyone since 1976. The death penalty was sidelined in 2004 and have never been re-instated. This fact is supported by Beckett in later episodes when she says a case went Federal so death penalty would be in effect since someone can endure the death penalty under those conditions.
SEASON 4 – HEAD CASE
This musing puts Castle’s definition of irony to the test. At the end of the show, Beckett identifies Mrs. Hamilton’s means of death as a cyanide pill. Cyanide pills cause death by brain death, irreparably destroying the cerebral neurons, which would completely negate her reason to die, in order to have her brain preserved. Additionally, death will occur 18 minutes after ingestion so she would have been alone in holding at least that long. Also, ent did she still gave personal belongings after being booked on murder?
SEASON 5 – AFTER HOURS
This one makes me go hmmmmmmmm. Kate and her father’s love of baseball was previously touched on in “Suicide Squeeze”, who could forget Kate’s epic fangirl moment! We also sawCastle’s lack of interest in it but that did not stop him for rubbing elbows with famous NY Yankees. Additionally, dispite Martha’s distaste for the sport It hasn’t kept Martha and Castle, for that matter, from being friends with baseball legend Joe Torre to where the skippe asks after Ms. Rodgers.
SEASON 6 – FOR BETTER OR WORSE
Let’s call this one “Inquiring Minds Want To Know”. Beckett’s Aunt Theresa is mentioned again when Castle suggests that she should be taken off the wedding list after having made a post that was less than flattering about Castle on her Facebook page when it was reported on page 6 that Castle had been seen canoodling with his ex-wife and publicist, Gina, in Limelight. According to Beckett, Aunt Theresa did take the post down. But the real question is, is she Jim’s sister or JoHanna’s sister? And for that matter, is she cousin Sophia’s mother?
