Let’s offer a salutation to maybe the best TV dad since the sitcoms of the fifties and sixties, Richard Castle!

 

 

Right from the beginning we got a taste for the kind of dad Castle was.  At the book launch, Alexis is doing homework at the bar.  He caljoles her to enjoy life but then we get the other side of their relationship, the one where there are each other’s confidant.  It results in the great line from Alexis “Well that is different”

And Rick certainly believes in a good family life, ask Beckett on her first encounter!

 

 

Who knew Castle could raise such a great daughter?  Here he and Martha revel in her valedictorian speech.  BRAVO,

 

 

 

Castle has his heart broken as he realizes Alexis was kidnapped.  We also find out the extents Rick will go when a loved one, especially his daughter and wife, are threatened.  For an added bonus, we meet Jackson Hunt.

Season six we have the first butting heads of the two Alphas of the Castle household.  But Alexis breaks down realizing how much she needs her dad.
