MONDAY MUSINGS: LOVE TO SEE THEM AGAIN
After relaxing through the weekend, it’s time to get the week started by ruminating on some plot points I wish had happened. These are characters that aren’t as well know but still essential to the overall story of CASTLE! So please take this journey down WHATIF lane and see if you agree!
DR CLARK MURRAY
The good pathologist appeared twice in true story altering fashion. When Lanie engaged Dr. Murray on the Coonan case, it opened possibilities for future appearances. I could have seen him in two definitive cases. The first case I thought of was PROBABLE CAUSE. But moreso, I could see him assisting Lanie in DISCIPLE. With the lookalikes, he could drill down into details to lead them to 3XY. Would have been fun!
A whirlwind of fresh air, Maddie dropped some major bomb shells on us in just a few episodic moments in FOOD TO DIE FOR. You can’t tell me she would not have added greatly in subsequent installments. The obvious place would be as a bridesmaid or catering the wedding at the Hampton’s house. But, what if it was Maddie who Castle hooked up with to punish Beckett? It could even be the backstory of Castle investing in Q3 to the point Maddie runs the kitchen at the OLD HAUNT!
We saw the good judge twice in season one then sporadically referenced in subsequent seasons. What if he was the signing judge when Beckett needed the warrant to get the mayor’s coat in DIAL M FOR MAYOR. Sure would pose a moral dilemma to go against your poker buddy. He also could have been the judge who “greased the skids” to expedite Kate’s divorce. Just saying….
THE BIG CHEESE
As Castle’s very good friend, shouldn’t His Honor Bob Weldon done the honors? But should we really be surprised since none of their friends were invited. You could say it was surprising Jim walked her down the aisle!
RINA THE BABYSITTER
We all remember the model who Rick did not recognize and later appalled at her youth when she hit on him. Even Beckett defended his chivalry! I think it would have been great if Rina was the contestant from the Empire State in PRETTY DEAD! Then again, maybe she could have worked for Matilda King in DRESSED TO KILL.
