Our season 4 bookend introduces us to a unique presentation where we get a tease of the ending then transported back three days. Very interesting!
Our episode opening us benign enough, Beckett and Castle walking together, light banter between them as they carry the coffe that Castle surely brought. One thing leads to another and, well look at that, movie date night!
The murder de jour happens at Roy Montgomery’s house. The Vic seems to have been able to escape before succumbing to his injuries. Hmmm what could this be all about? Of course, the wife of the Vic had no idea he moonlighted as a burgler!
As luck would have it, the DNA recovered from the victim matched DNA in the system. The half glass empty part lets Beckett know the DNA belongs to her assassin who is still is a ghost. In a rare show of affection within the precinct, Castle intertwined his fingers with hers to attempt to allay her fears.
Castle being Castle could not keep hidden his secret investigation of JoHanna Beckett murder, Kate Beckett’s sniper and a clandestine pact to keep our favorite detective alive.
Well since it is the season conclusion, we next get the mandatory Castle-Beckett fight. We’re gonna have to do a poll as to which season ending fight is best 😄😄😄.
Beckett catches a lead on her assassin and gets Espo to go rogue with her to chase him down at an old hotel. Let’s just say Maddox is slightly more efficient and physical when fighting that a certain robbery detective she dominated in a spar a mere two seasons ago. Even though she thought it was Castle making the save, it was actually Ryan who squealed on them.
Perhaps this is the worst altercation as it broke up a budding romance eventually to be christened Caskett but also drove a wedge between the sidekicks RYESPO.
The stuff hit the fan so bad Beckett tosses her badge at Gates and quits. Nice dramatic twist, certainly one not we expected. She don’t need no stinking badge!
Castle would not have been able to back up Beckett this time anyway because he has his own life changing event to attend. Our little Alexis is all grown up now.
Time for some introspection on the part of our dear detective. The rain and solidary swing shot adds much drama to the conclusion. What will she decide?
