Not really a character but often referenced. How great would an episode be centered around a traditional historic watering hole owned by Caskett. We have not seen a reference to going there in a VERY long time

10/. Victoria Gates

For someone I didn’t like initially, probably because she was not Roy Montgomery, she grew on me.  But Iron Gates icy demeanor gradually defrosted and became a mentor and friend to Beckett even to the point of accepting Castle.

9/. Officer Anne Hastings

[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”22″ gal_title=”Hastings”] Anne should be promoted to fill the opening in the detective staff left void by Beckett’s promotion. She has similar testicular fortitude as Beckett and could be an excellent story line of Kate mentoring her especially if there is a season 9

How great would it be for Kate to mentor both Hastings and Decker, maybe even a novice detective team Beckett could supervise.  Could really drive the show in a new area especially if there is a season 9

8/. Dr. Carter Burke

[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”29″ gal_title=”Burke”] He should have been involved early in season 8 especially since Kate had leaned on him so much previously, especially dealing with her mother’s murder and with her relationship with Castle. He knows her the best.

7/. Madison Queller

6/. Return of the Writer’s card game

[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”31″ gal_title=”Poker”] Maybe finally get Stephen King to drop some coin at the table? Also get Kate to play, would be fun for her to school Castle the expert poker player!

5/. Rogan O’Leary [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”17″ gal_title=”Rogan”] We need an episode where Kate’s first husband gets himself into the kind of trouble only he can. He is wanted for murder and wants Beckett to prove his innocence.  Come on Kit-Kat!

4/. Michael Smith

[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”33″ gal_title=”Smith”] Oh Mr. Smith, you are so deep into this mess. Since we saw him in S8 E3 where he gave Beckett a clue on the heroin, he should be able to assist more as they get closer, especially if Castle asks. We need you Mr. Smith!

3/. Rita Hunt [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”19″ gal_title=”Rita”] Since Rita started Kate toward leaving Castle, it would seem natural to interject herself back into the fray. And we saw that in S8E11 as we found out she is helping Kate on LokSat.  Castle also now knows she is his step-mother.  I can’t see how she is not involved again this season. It would be Even more fun if both couples Beckett-Castle and Jackson-Rita wound up working togethers to take down the bad guys.

2/. Jackson Hunt / Alexander Cross [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”20″ gal_title=”Jax.-Cross”]

 

Always great mayhem when James Brolin shows up. Would be fun if Beckett and Castle could get involved in international espionage. As we wind down the LokSat mess, especially with Rita being involved, and Hayley being employed by Hunt, he needs to be involved.

2A/. Jim Beckett [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”34″ gal_title=”JimB”]

 

This omission is unforgivable.  Kate seeks his advice during tough times and certainly he should have been employed this season.  Of course if there are any little ones in there future,mJim would be quite the doting gandpa

1/. Agent Jordan Shaw [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”18″ gal_title=”Jordan”]

Besides being a Dana Delaney fan, her character is a great model for Kate, an FBI profiler with a family. I could see Jordan being employed as a profiler, investigating Vikram who may or may not have Beckett’s trust. Also it could be assumed that Kate would like a family and Jordan would show the way to achieving that.
